ADVENT SPECIAL
Relax during the Advent season.
To give free rein to strength and energy.
The drum is one of the oldest instruments on earth, archaic and powerful. The drum can be found in countless forms in every part of the world. Over the millennia, different cultures have developed different playing styles, rhythms and occasions. Perhaps it is so important because its sound comes closest to what we hear first in our lives - the mother's heartbeat. And because it touches people at their very core.
The O-DAIKO: One beat on this marvellous O-DAIKO makes a room tremble and completely changes its atmosphere. Cascades of rhythms and rolling whirls follow, slowly ebbing away and leaving behind a lively silence. Originating from Asia, the barrel drum is called TAIKO in Japan and BUK in Korea. The TAIKO family has different sizes, which you will get to know in the seminar.
Experience Nils Tannert up close as a patient and determined teacher. Full of dedication, he teaches the optimal stance, body and stick posture, movement sequences, striking techniques, rhythm, teamwork and much more. The aim of the seminar is to harmonise different techniques and movement sequences with the rhythm. It is important to experience the play and power of the rhythms experienced together. Great emphasis is placed on the relationship between movement - quality of the beat - coordination and sound. The joy of the drumming experience will accompany the course. It encourages creativity and opens up new levels. The drums used are Miya-Daiko and O-Daiko. No previous knowledge required.
The advanced seminars build on the knowledge acquired in the introductory seminar and are open to newcomers. Stick holding, stance, easy rhythmic sequences, the interlocking of simple rhythms. The techniques, perception and playing in the group as a team are deepened and a taiko piece is developed that corresponds to the rhythmic abilities of the group.
The "real" playing on the O-Daiko is a completely new part of the course. We will get to know new compositions and continue playing on the O-Daiko. We will also get to know the game Miya Daiko (playing sideways). Our focus will always be on the quality and ease of our play. By playing with a stick and moving in space, we will develop our presence and perception. Refining body tension, strength, fitness and expression.
